Renewing the mind, how can you do this? Well, when we renew the body one of the most effective ways is by resting it. I think the same can be true for the mind hugh? Some of the ways I do this is by choosing thoughts and activities that bring peace and rest to my mind. Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things, yes even with a broken ankle, my situation at the time of this writing, or whatever hard thing you may be dealing with in your life. Surely Paul in this chapter had his share of troubles, yet he helps us to see the value of a positive mind space. To put it in everyday talk, a little bit of positivity can always make a sour situation better. I also remind myself of God’s heart towards me, as in Isaiah 41:10 it says, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. In Isaiah 49:16 God tells me that I am engraved on the palms of His hands, adding the visual of Christ's wounds in His hands from the cross, sets my mind in a deep place of assurance, gratitude and rest.

Goodness in, goodness out, right?  As for yourself how do you engage in healthy mind rest for renewal?  What are you putting in your mind?  What do you want to get out of your mind?  What do you want your mind to do for you? Because what's in your mind besides God's blueprint or plan for your life is largely what you put in there and putting things that agree with God's plan in your mind is key. Whether it be what you spend your time watching, reading or what you spend your time listening to. You transform your mind by renewing your commitment to putting good things in it day by day. The renewed commitment to do this over and over is part of the transformation process of renewing the mind. We have to renew our licenses, certifications and education all the time, why not our mind's? Healing music, good books, positive affirmations, solitude, being still, mindfulness exercises, sea scapes, nature walks, meditation, beautiful art or hanging out with good friends. What can you add to this list that would aid you in your mind's renewal? Renewing the mind is a continuous and ever-evolving process that will be different for each person. Thank you for reading. Continuing the conversation can include topics like

self-connection and exploring what you were made for. Want to know God's plan for your life? Here's a start.

Blessings!
