Dawning my favorite friendship pink and my ancestors denim blue on a blustery overcast Saturday afternoon, serenading the sun that it might just break on through! My make shift phone stand on a popup busking tour stop caught this rather poignant photo and I thought I'd share it along with some thoughts. On the other-side of that, sometimes I think to hang up my harp, but then again no, of course not! So off to another of my favorite places I go. It's noisy and bustling and distracting but in a good way, its where hellos, and long time no sees are said, and the dinner plans for later are made, the random dancing toddler to the children's songs I played and the shy baby cupping its lil head in mommy's neck just enjoying it's innocent day. It's the sights and the sounds and the smells filling my cup, creating memories and life that I'll never give up, and the sun, it finally
broke on through, in me! Lol😆.

Shifting my headspace, changing up my surroundings and sharing in good energy works wonders for me. Here's some other stuff I try too!
Acknowledge your feelings: It's ok to admit when a situation feels like a foreign land.
Pause and Reflect: Taking a step away doesn't have to be permanent and hanging up the harp can be just a temporary rest and a time to reset.
Embrace Your Inner Peace: Sometimes not forcing the music gives you space to hear a sweeter song and explore other gifts and talents that keep you engaged and help move you along.
Make A Special Plan: Give yourself something to look forward to, an outing or something you've always wanted to have, or do. Plain and simple it's good ole fashioned self-care that fills the cup and, let's face it sometimes your the only one filling it up, and learning to call in for backup what ever that is for you, is what's up👍🏾. It can be many things that help get you through, name them and claim them.
For me it's faith, trustworthy friends, family and creative wellness through my music, and other forms of art that I enjoy.
What are some things you do to help move you along through rough patches in your life?
