Thank you for your comment and I agree with you. As a fellow traveler working out my own salvation here's my take. Let me know what you think?
Yeah, the word of God can feel pretty weird hu, like the time when Jesus told his disciples in order to follow him, they had to drink his blood and eat his flesh. A lot of them were weirded out too, and many stopped following Him. The Bible often uses metaphors of food for the word of God like in John 6:50-51 KJV where Jesus is saying I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
God uses his word to speak to us, and if we're eating from his word, so to speak hence the visual, we have a better chance of hearing and understanding Him when He speaks back to us with these metaphors. Jesus gave His body when He died becoming that spiritual bread which came down from heaven. Hope this helps with some of the weirdness that the bible can feel like sometimes.
